Dear Parents and Continuing
Musicians (Grades 4-8):
Learning an instrument might not always be easy, but it is always
worth the effort.
I urge musicians to continue learning music without interruption
from year to year.
As a music educator for over 35 years, I have never heard an adult
say they were
happy about quitting music lessons. Almost all adults regret they
were allowed to discontinue
their instruction.
It is my mission to have music be part of your life - throughout
your life.
The opportunity to create music and explore the beauty of self
expression is never ending.
Young students cannot reap the full benefits of music in just a few
years. Please consider providing instrumental learning throughout
your child’s education. This sacrifice will undoubtedly
enhance your child’s:
• Self Expression
• Self Confidence
• Ability to work with others
• Communication
• Social Development
• Learning skills
• SAT Scores
• Math, Science & Reading skills
Playing music is not a frivolous sideline but something that is at
the core of a well rounded education. The belief in a link between
the study of music and improved academic achievement goes back a
long way.
