MUSIC IS FOR LIFE

PRACTICING

Providing an instrument to play is only the first of many contributions you can make to assure success for your child. Please consider the following:

PRACTICE

Just as math homework is a specific assignment, so is music homework.

MINIMUM PRACTICE - 20 minutes, 4 days a week. No less!
REGULARITY - Set aside a time of the day that is reserved for music practice.
REPETITION - Once through is not enough. Like an athlete perfecting his skills, the musician needs to play the same melody over and over in order to improve.

ATTENDANCE

Don't let the musician leave for school on lesson days without his or her
instrument and lesson book. Missed instruction is difficult to make up.

COMMITMENT

Help to teach your child the value of "sticking with it" if he or she has
made a commitment. The student's efforts over time will surely be rewarded.

COMMUNICATION

We are very interested in discussing your child's progress with you.
Feel free to contact us  at any time.
